Spotswood Sansom & Sansbury LLC is pleased to announce that Stephanie Avant joined the firm as an associate.

Avant is a graduate of the University of Montevallo and the University of Alabama School of Law, where she served as articles editor of The Journal of the Legal Profession and was a member of the Thurgood Marshall Moot Court Competition Team, where she was awarded Outstanding Moot Court Team Member by the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association. Avant also belonged to the Order of Barristers, the Order of Samaritan, and the Bench and Bar Honor Society. Prior to joining the firm, Avant was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Madeline Hughes Haikala of the US District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. Before attending law school, Stephanie was a third-grade teacher for over ten years with Birmingham City Schools.
