Spotswood Sansom & Sansbury LLC is pleased to announce that Tyler Smoot joined the firm as an associate on August 15, 2022.

Smoot is a graduate of Baylor University, Duke Divinity School, and the University of Alabama School of Law, where he served as a senior editor of the Alabama Civil Rights & Civil Liberties Law Review, was a member of the Carol Andrews ABA National Moot Court Team, and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Smoot also received the Order of the Samaritan Award and achieved first place in the American Constitution Society National Student Writing Contest. Prior to joining the firm, Smoot clerked for the Honorable Karon O. Bowdre of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. Before attending law school, Tyler served in Christian ministry with low-income students and individuals re-entering society after incarceration.
